On December 24, 2021, the Resource and Environment Research Institute of the China National Institute of Standardization and Carbonstop officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing, jointly launching the "Standardization Research and Database Construction in Green and Low-Carbon Fields."
The project will target key industries to collaboratively carry out relevant technical research and pilots, standard development and application, data mining and analysis, tool development and database establishment, promotion, education, and training in the field of green and low-carbon. Attending the signing ceremony were over 20 leaders and experts, including Ms. Lin Ling, Director of the Resource and Environment Research Institute of the China National Institute of Standardization, Mr. Yan Luhui, Founder of Carbonstop (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd., and representatives from the Secretariat of the Double Carbon Public Welfare Fund.
Mrs. Lin Ling, Director of the Resource and Environment Research Institute of the China National Institute of Standardization, first welcomed the delegation from Carbonstop and highly praised the company’s creation of a database with over 100,000 carbon emission factors, as well as its strength and industry influence accumulated over many years in the low-carbon field. She pointed out that this cooperation with Carbonstop will, on the basis of resource sharing and complementary advantages, jointly deepen national standardization strategy research and establish a more authoritative and scientific carbon emission factor database, thereby encouraging more enterprises and organizations to join and accelerate the realization of China’s dual carbon goals.
Mr. Yan Luhui, Founder of Carbonstop, stated that standardization and databases are the cornerstones of promoting carbon neutrality. This cooperation with the China National Institute of Standardization marks a new beginning. He looks forward to taking the first step and continuously consolidating the foundation of cooperation, truly establishing the Chinese carbon emission factor database, which is a highly valuable and meritorious endeavor.
Based on the implementation of this project, Carbonstop and the Resource and Environment Research Institute of the China National Institute of Standardization will jointly create a standardized basic material and typical product carbon emission factor database domestically. Using standardized service support as the entry point, they aim to achieve integrated and synchronized development of technical research, standard development, and database establishment, providing underlying data support for life cycle environmental impact assessments across industries, assisting in achieving the 'dual carbon' goals, and advancing green development.
