In the afternoon of September 21, the public welfare communication activity "The Next Climate Action is Defined by You," initiated by WildAid in collaboration with its ambassador and young actor Wu Lei, was launched at UCCA Center for Contemporary Art.
Attending the launch were Wang Chunfeng, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Center of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration; John Baker, Global Chief Program Officer of WildAid; Yu Chong, Chief Representative of WildAid Beijing Office; Liu Jiashun, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of China Green Carbon Foundation; and Yan Luhui, Founder and CEO of Carbonstop.
To reduce the carbon emissions from holding the press conference and make the event itself a form of climate action, the conference was supported by Carbonstop in providing carbon technology solutions, which included saving and reusing materials, not providing bottled water, using electronic invitations, selecting gifts made from recycled fishing nets and food containers for guests, and advocating low-carbon travel methods for attendees, resulting in only about 2.66 tons of greenhouse gas emissions, a reduction of approximately 77% compared to conventional conferences of the same scale.

Wu Lei stated that the specific data in the table had left a deep impression on him, revealing that even the smallest daily actions can contribute to carbon reduction.
He also shared his recent experience of encountering hail and heavy rain while cycling during the press conference, expressing: “Extreme weather has a significant impact on outdoor activities such as cycling. If climate change continues to intensify, extreme weather will likely become more frequent in the future, reducing the time we can safely engage in outdoor activities. In the face of climate change, no one can be a mere observer; everyone should actively participate in climate action.”

On August 8, 2023, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) officially announced that July 2023 had been confirmed as the hottest month globally on record. It is estimated that the temperature for the month was about 1.5°C higher than the average temperature between 1815 and 1900, surpassing the threshold of 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. UN Secretary-General António Guterres referred to it as the arrival of the "era of global boiling" and called for immediate climate action.
As the exclusive carbon management partner of this event, Carbonstop has been dedicated to promoting carbon emission calculation, management, and reduction across industries for 12 years, aiming to empower enterprises to quantify their reductions through scientific carbon management solutions and promote climate action.
We adhere to our mission and commitment of "letting every product have a carbon footprint." Not only have we provided professional carbon management products and services to over 1,200 industry leaders, including China UnionPay, Baidu, SKP, and Mastercard, contributing to a total reduction of over 100 million tons of carbon emissions, but we have also transformed our office into an ideal carbon-neutral enterprise through the use of carbon-neutral carpets, leased air purifiers, and encouraging green commuting among employees.
In the future, Carbonstop will participate in sustainable development initiatives and promote climate action with a more proactive attitude, contributing to the fight against climate change through technological innovation.
