From November 30 to December 12, the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
On December 8, Carbonstop, as one of the organizers of the COP28 side events, joined forces with 21st Century Business Herald, Energy Foundation, Zhenggu, MNP Optomagnetic, Hualong Aviation, ChenGuang, Zhongguan Village Green Carbon Sink Research Institute, Xiaomi, Yehyehyeh Innovation Society, Solif, EnergyLab, and other enterprises and institutions to hold discussions on "Sustainable Development from a Global Perspective" at the China Pavilion in the Blue Zone of Expo City Dubai. Industry leaders from various sectors discussed "China's Carbon Neutrality Practices" and shared innovative achievements made by Chinese enterprises and institutions in addressing climate change.

COP28 is one of the most important climate conferences in recent years, with the host country, the UAE, proposing four key points: accelerating energy transition, repairing climate finance, focusing on people's lives and livelihoods, and ensuring comprehensive inclusiveness. This conference is also the first global stocktake of the implementation of the Paris Agreement. In the context of the dual-carbon targets, public attention to low-carbon environmental protection topics is growing. Many Chinese enterprises are actively responding to policies and market demands, fulfilling their social responsibilities. Currently, thousands of enterprises in China are disclosing their carbon information, and nearly ten thousand key emission enterprises need to report their carbon data in the carbon trading system. Nearly ten thousand enterprises have voluntarily proposed carbon reduction and carbon neutrality goals.
As an organizer, Carbonstop was fortunate to invite industry leaders in the field of carbon neutrality to gather together. These include Li Nuyun, the pioneer of China's first "carbon neutrality" proposal and a major contributor to China's forestry carbon sink work; Energy Foundation, Alashan Foundation, and China Green Carbon Sink Foundation, which support innovation in the carbon sector; ChenGuang, which launched the world's first carbon-neutral ballpoint pen in 2023; Zhenggu, which promotes carbon-neutral organic food; Hualong Aviation, which advances sustainable development in the aviation industry; Xiaomi, which leads green development through smart manufacturing; Yehyehyeh Innovation Society, which integrates sustainable development and avant-garde creativity; Solif, a strategic partner of Low-Carbon Heroes; and 21st Century Business Herald, a leading media in the carbon neutrality field.

At the roundtable discussion on "Addressing Climate Change and Sustainable Development from a Global Perspective," Li Deshanyu, Editor-in-Chief of the ESG Channel of 21st Century Business Herald, Jing Hui, Senior Project Director of Strategy Communication at the Energy Foundation, Zhang Xiangdong, Chairman of Zhenggu, Li Jingzhou, Director and General Manager of MNP Optomagnetic, and Liu Yukun, Consulting Manager of Carbonstop, exchanged their practices in addressing climate change within their industries and initiated the "ESG Sustainable Action Initiative," calling on enterprises to fulfill their social responsibilities and promote sustainable development. Subsequently, 21st Century Business Herald signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Global Carbon Management Conference (GCMC) and jointly released the Green Brand ESG Index. As one of the earliest media outlets to establish a low-carbon section, 21st Century Business Herald has always closely followed and promoted China's low-carbon development. GCMC brings together top carbon management experts and enterprise representatives from around the world to discuss challenges and solutions in carbon emission management. In the future, both strategic partners will leverage their respective strengths to take a significant step toward a sustainable future.
With the continuous development of the digital and green era, industries and enterprises need to continuously strengthen innovation and explore new development models and paths to adapt to the evolving needs of the times. At the thematic meeting titled "Carbon Neutrality: Chinese Enterprises on the Journey," Liu Chang, President of Hualong Aviation Group, shared the company's strategies and practices in driving sustainable development through green aviation, emphasizing the importance of the aviation industry in the low-carbon transition and introducing specific measures and outcomes in energy conservation and emission reduction.

Chen Zidan, Chief Sustainability Officer of ChenGuang Stationery, shared "Sustainable Practices for Writing a Sustainable Business Future," showcasing the company's explorations and achievements in environmental protection and social responsibility. Li Nuyun, President of the Zhongguan Village Green Carbon Sink Research Institute, launched the "Green Carbon Reduction Standard System GVER Registration Platform," providing a new platform for the formulation and implementation of carbon reduction standards. Jiao Yunfeng, Head of Polymer Material Pre-research at Xiaomi Mobile Department and Associate Senior Engineer, introduced the "Xiaomi 13T Bio-leather Phone Back Cover," demonstrating Xiaomi's innovations and applications in eco-friendly materials. Yan Luhui, Founder and CEO of Carbonstop, unveiled a new product, an AI product focused on carbon neutrality and carbon management: Carbon AI. The release of these innovative practices showcased the proactive exploration and innovative spirit of various industries in the low-carbon transition.

Sustainable development can provide new opportunities and perspectives for businesses, while businesses can offer the necessary financial and technological support for sustainable development. However, how to truly integrate the two and achieve long-term sustainable development remains a challenge faced by governments, enterprises, and institutions. Cristián Mosella, Managing Partner of EnergyLab, Zhang Xiangdong, Chairman of Zhenggu, Ye Xiaowei, Founder of Yehyehyeh Innovation Society, and Qin Mengxu, Representative of the Partner of Low-Carbon Heroes and Founder of Sustainable Fashion Brand Solif, discussed the coexistence and mutual growth of low-carbon development and business value based on their own practices.

The conference not only attracted government representatives, enterprises, media, institutions, and other individuals concerned about climate change from around the world, who engaged in in-depth discussions on issues such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainable development, but also invited attendees to participate in the interactive "Panda Conservation Program" activity.
As one of the organizers of the "China Pavilion" at the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), Carbonstop demonstrated China's capabilities and experience in carbon emission management to the world, showcasing China's determination in addressing climate change. Carbonstop will leverage this international climate event to participate more actively in actions that promote global climate progress, empower more enterprises in their low-carbon transition, and work together towards a green future!
