Every full seed harbors a season of harvest within it.
Today is Arbor Day, on this vibrant day, Carbonstop has completed the corporate carbon inventory for the year 2023 and achieved carbon neutrality for 2023, making it the twelfth consecutive year Carbonstop has achieved carbon neutrality!

In 2023, Carbonstop deeply practiced the CREOS Corporate Carbon Neutrality Methodology, achieving carbon neutrality at the operational level through five dimensions: Calculating, Reducing, Engaging, Offsetting, and Spreading. This year, Carbonstop integrated carbon reduction actions into every aspect of the company, making carbon neutrality more than just a slogan.

Calculating
Carbon inventory is the foundation of carbon neutrality.
In 2023, Carbonstop further expanded the scope of calculation, adding Category 4 upstream transportation and distribution to the Scope 3 emissions, while refining data granularity. For this carbon emission inventory, the Carbonstop team continued to use the Carbonstop Inventory Model established on Carbon Cloud Ccloud, adding new emission sources to the model. Data was imported through a template, generating carbon emission results and reports, clearly tracking trends in carbon emissions.
Adhering to the principle of resource recycling, most capital goods were repaired or reused, resulting in a reduction of 46.32 tons of CO2 emissions under Category 2 of Scope 3, accounting for about 76.17% of the total reduction.
The overall carbon emissions for 2023 show a further decrease, with the company emitting 139.537 tons of CO2 equivalent, a reduction of approximately 30.36% compared to 2022!

Reducing
In 2023, the company continued to actively promote a low-carbon culture, implementing low-carbon commuting, low-carbon office practices, low-carbon business travel, and low-carbon procurement.
The company encourages employees to adopt more environmentally friendly modes of transportation, such as taking buses, subways, and other public transit. Additionally, the company promotes digital office practices, reducing the use of paper documents and thus minimizing paper waste and associated carbon emissions.
For low-carbon business travel, the company focuses on choosing environmentally friendly transportation and accommodation options. For example, it prioritizes low-emission transportation methods like high-speed rail and electric vehicles. In terms of accommodation, the company selects hotels or homestays that meet environmental standards to avoid excessive resource consumption and waste generation. During procurement, the company gives priority to products and materials with environmental certifications, low energy consumption, and low emissions.

Engaging
Engaging employees, partners, and consumers in carbon reduction actions is a crucial part of a company's commitment to carbon neutrality.
In August 2023, we launched the world's first sustainable consumption platform—Low-Carbon Hero—dedicated to making green consumption a daily and widespread practice. All products on the platform come with carbon footprint or carbon reduction data, allowing consumers to make more informed and responsible purchasing decisions based on real environmental data, rather than relying solely on surface information and advertising. Low-Carbon Hero has been well-received by many consumers and has become an important platform for companies to choose low-carbon gifts for green meetings.
In 2023, our TAG Project (The Annual Green Project) prioritized issuing and accepting electronic invoices as receipts from partners, clients, and suppliers. At the end of 2024, we will publicly share detailed data on this initiative, demonstrating how much carbon emissions we have reduced over the year.
This year, every employee began attaching a carbon reduction label to each email sent, turning each email into a daily reminder to reduce carbon emissions from digital reading compared to paper printing and encouraging recipients to reduce paper printing as well.

At the Carbonstop 2024 Annual Meeting, we officially launched the "Carbonstop Corporate Public Welfare Walk" project, taking concrete actions to fulfill our social responsibility and environmental commitment. Going forward, the company will organize all employees to participate in a public welfare project every year. As the opening act of the project, this year we chose to plant trees together in a park as a starting point. This tree planting activity is our heartfelt declaration to the Earth on Arbor Day. By planting each sapling with our own hands, we sow seeds of hope for a greener future.

Offsetting
For unavoidable carbon emissions, Carbonstop offset them by purchasing high-quality carbon credits and carbon assets.
Carbonstop adopted six offset methods, including China Certified Emission Reductions (CCER), Certified Emission Reductions (CER) under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), Verified Emission Reductions (VERs) under the Verra International Verified Carbon Standard, and Gold Standard (GS) managed by the Gold Standard Foundation and non-profit organizations, to achieve "diverse" carbon neutrality.
For Scope 2 emissions from purchased electricity, we offset them by purchasing green electricity produced by the Xiangyang Fu Zhuang 100MW Agri-PV Complementary Power Generation Project operated by CGN New Energy Xiangyang Co., Ltd.
Carbonstop also carefully selected and sponsored the Brazil Ceará Renewable Energy Project under the Gold Standard (GS). This project provides biomass fuel to local factories to replace illegal firewood, reducing deforestation due to the collection of firewood and supporting reforestation, avoiding 50,536 tCO2e of greenhouse gas emissions annually.
In addition to purchasing offset projects, Carbonstoppers successfully planted a spruce tree in Ant Forest after a year of joint efforts.

Spreading
This year, the company implemented carbon labels across all scenarios.
Whether it's the company's furniture or WeChat Official Account articles, they all carry their own carbon footprint weight, reminding every person who sees them to try to reduce their personal carbon emissions. Scientific and rigorous numbers are used to transparently convey fresh low-carbon concepts to everyone who visits Carbonstop.

At the United Nations Climate Conference COP28 in December 2023, Carbonstop joined hands with socially responsible Chinese enterprises and institutions to share China's carbon neutrality experience. At the conference, Carbonstop showcased its innovative practices and achievements in carbon management and released Carbon AI, conveying to the international community the determination and actions of Chinese enterprises in addressing climate change and promoting sustainable development.

Today, Arbor Day, is also the twelfth consecutive year of Carbonstop's carbon neutrality. From its inception to the present, Carbonstop has consistently moved forward on the path of "dual carbon," never stopping.
May the grass grow lush and the spring mountains be visible, may the new green grow into a full and rich world.
