On April 20, the World Economic Forum announced the most promising 109 global Young Leaders under the age of 40, who are committed to improving the status quo in areas such as green energy, health equity, refugee rights, and educational reform. They will join the Forum of Young Global Leaders, whose members include Nobel laureates, heads of state, CEOs of Fortune Global 500 companies, and Grammy Award winners.
This year's newly elected Young Global Leaders come from 42 countries, with roughly equal numbers of men and women. Among them, there are 13 from the Greater China region, including Professor and Doctoral Supervisor Jin Xing Zheng of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peng Shen, founder and CEO of WaterDrop, Boju Zhang, Secretary-General of the Ginkgo Foundation, Xue Mei Sun, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Phoenix News, and other leaders with the greatest potential in various fields. Lu Hui Yan, founder of Carbonstop, is also among them.

The Forum of Young Global Leaders was founded in 2005 by Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, aiming to foster a sense of responsibility among young leaders and shape a more sustainable and beautiful future, working together to address increasingly complex and severe challenges. The forum currently has more than 1,400 current and former members active in over 120 countries.
Mariah Levin, Director of the Forum of Young Global Leaders, said: “Today’s selection of Young Global Leaders demonstrates extraordinary talent and foresight in their respective fields. Although they come from different industries, regions, and sectors, they are united in their commitment to leadership and actively working to build a more inclusive and sustainable world.”
Nicole Schwab, a member of the Board of Directors of the Forum of Young Global Leaders, said: “The World Economic Forum warmly welcomes this year’s elected Young Global Leaders. Their active participation in improving the state of the world is crucial in today’s world, which increasingly requires collaboration.”

As the founder and CEO of Carbonstop, a global expert in carbon management and carbon neutrality, Lu Hui Yan is also a reviewer for the IPCC Expert Committee of the United Nations and has been invited to attend the United Nations Climate Conferences for eight consecutive years.
Lu Hui Yan holds a master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Oxford and is an Outstanding Alumnus of the UK, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Electronic Energy Saving Technology Association, and one of the Top 10 Social Innovators.
Lu Hui Yan’s selection as a Young Global Leader proves that he, as an innovative entrepreneur driving global sustainable development, has gained international recognition, and the strength of China is attracting worldwide attention.
Carbonstop, as China's leading integrated cloud platform and consulting service provider in carbon management, will join hands with Lu Hui Yan, upholding the mission of “letting every product have a carbon footprint,” to contribute to shaping a more efficient and sustainable world with professionalism, innovation, and a pursuit of excellence.
