02 Qinghe New Carbon Research Institute
The Qinghe New Carbon Research Institute, officially named the "Qinghe Circular Economy and Carbon Neutrality Research Institute," relies on Qinghe New Carbon (Beijing) Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., established in 2021 to align with the national "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" strategic goals. Dr. Nanqing Jiang, former UN Environment Programme official, was invited to serve as the institute's first director, and she also serves as the Secretary-General of the Green Circularity and Popularization Committee of the China Environmental Protection Federation.
The main objective of the institute is to promote green and low-carbon development in areas such as circular regeneration, pollution reduction, and carbon reduction, and synergistic efficiency enhancement. The company possesses resources and expertise in circular economy, carbon standards and trading, green buildings, environmental protection, and carbon capital, as well as advantages in carbon reduction and circular economy, playing a leading role in regional carbon neutrality practices.
Focusing on enterprises with the greatest potential for emission reduction in multiple sectors including plastics, consumer goods, construction, transportation, and waste management, Qinghe New Carbon engages in the incubation of low-carbon emission reduction projects, ESG rating planning, investment and financing related to emission reduction, and the development of circular regeneration industry standards platforms, label certification, and related training third-party technical services and consulting. Collaborating with international organizations, domestic research institutions, and commercial entities, the institute aims to create innovative demonstration cases and platforms for carbon reduction and neutrality in parks and cities, promoting the application of interconnected high technology in the circular economy.
