The “3060 Urban Low-Carbon Adventure Race” is an innovative public event launched in the context of China’s national “dual carbon” strategy—“carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060.” This edition ingeniously integrated low-carbon concepts into urban exploration: participants carried “seed maps” and traveled via metro, bus, cycling, and other green transport methods between ten distinctive checkpoints—including the China Wetland Museum, Xiaohe Park, and the China Hangzhou Low-Carbon Science and Technology Museum.
Each checkpoint featured interactive low-carbon activities such as carbon sink calculations, upcycling workshops, and environmental knowledge quizzes. Participants used Alipay’s newly launched “Tap-to-Check-In” function to complete digital check-ins and accumulate points.
Sustainability was embedded in every aspect of the event: staff badges were made from recycled ocean plastic waste, each with a unique carbon code for traceability; on-site recycling stations for water bottles and milk cartons encouraged proper waste sorting and resource circulation.
